Calling all princes and princesses to a grand Royal Tea on Sunday, April 28, at the General Morgan Inn from 2-4 p.m.
The event is open to the public, but tickets are limited. Guests will be treated to tea and lunch, crafts, games, face painting, visits from princesses and the King and other fun activities. Attendees will have the option of selecting a table themed to one of 18 favorite storybooks. The doors will open at 1:30 p.m. so royal attendees may select the table of their choice.
This event is hosted by Greene LEAF, the foundation for Greene County Schools and is a fundraiser to help purchase additional technology for Greene County Schools.
“Our first three Royal tea events were such a huge success that Greene LEAF is planning a fourth Royal Tea,” according to Suzanne Richey, executive director of Greene LEAF. “Following lunch and a Princess Parade led by some special guests, attendees can listen to live music, get their face painted and take a photo with the king.”
Community volunteers and educators from the county school system will be participating by decorating tables and helping to support the event. The theme is literacy so each table will be decorated differently to go with a children’s book. Some of the featured books are Peter Rabbit, Finding Dory, Harry Potter, Snow White, the Wizard of Oz, Pete the Cat and many more.
The Royal Tea will be an opportunity for girls and boys to dress up and have fun while pretending to be royalty. Mothers, fathers, grandmothers, aunts, uncles or simply friends may enjoy attending the tea with all of the trimmings. The children attending will be entertained by some very special favorite princesses and a storytelling performance. There will be face painting, music, crafts and more all included in the ticket price. Also, there will be a silent auction during the luncheon to keep the adults entertained.
The Royal Tea is a fundraising event and it is the fourth annual event of this kind hosted by the nonprofit foundation for Greene County Schools. The goal of this event is to raise enough money to add additional computers and tablets for the 6,500 students in Greene County Schools.
“This event will give families a fun way to participate in our fundraising efforts to add the needed technology to every school,” said Richey. “We would like to invite the community to come out for a fun afternoon tea.”
Businesses, individuals or community groups interested in sponsorship of The Royal Tea or making a donation to the silent auction, please contact Richey at email@example.com. Donations are tax deductible as Greene LEAF is a 501c3 nonprofit foundation for Greene County Schools.
Tickets for the Princess Tea are available at the General Morgan Inn or by contacting Richey. Advance tickets are $25 for children and $35 for adults if purchased by April 18. After April 18, tickets will be $35 for children and $45 for adults.
According to Richey, tickets are selling fast and seating is limited so please plan to purchase your tickets for the 2019 Royal Tea very soon.
